To the Wandering Eye What is not a Wonder?

As I awoke from my sleep a small figure formed in front of me from a cloud of smoke. At first it was hard to make out. It was about the size of a dog with two pointy ears and a long curly tail, but had gills like a fish. Its head and body were connected without a neck. It had four short pointy legs that were standing on my blanket. It stuck out its tongue and proceeded to jump towards the window leaving me in awe at this strange figure. It stared up at the ship floating in the sky. This little creature was enthralled with the graceful movements of the massive ship as it maneuvered through the air. As I showered and got dressed for my day this little creature stayed at my side. Today was my day off of work, so I decided that I would buy a ticket and ride in the ship with the little creature. I grabbed the map of the ship routes and some spare change before I left my apartment. When I got outside I looked at the map trying to figure out where I should take this little creature. I figured that we should go to the park across the city. It seemed like the logical thing to do. We started down the street and shortly arrived at the local landing bay for the ships. The air was strongly blowing the clouds through the landing bay, which rose high into the skyline. I started to rethink my original plan because the trip would be more turbulent if we took the ship to the park. In the end I decided that I was going to stick to the original plan. As we approached the landing bay I noticed a group of street carts selling all kinds of things. I did not buy anything. As we walked up the stairs to the ship I decided on what to call this strange little creature that had formed in front of me. Skipper would be his name because of the joy he found in the ships.

We boarded the airship and took a spot on the railing of the top deck to look down at the city from. In a couple of minutes the ship took off with one graceful exertion from the engines. The ship rose up into the clouds as we looked down to where we had been just a couple of moments earlier. The city came into full view as we reached the sailing altitude. The financial district of the city, which ascended high into the sky was flanked by the various apartment districts. Soon our destination of the park came into view. On the edge of the city laid the the 10 acre park. It was what seemed to be the only green spot of land for miles around. As the airship slowly descended from the sky Skipper seemed to become a little disheartened. I told him that we would have to come back to the airship to go home, and that seemed to cheer him up. This made me realize that he might be able to understand me.
As the airship docked at the station we made our way to the exit. We left the station and after walking a block reached the entrance of the park. I stopped as I reached the gate. I had only been here a couple of times before but everything looked the same. The grass was the richest green in color and was all an even height. The trees were arranged around the park to provide shade to those who were walking. Skipper looked out onto the park and stared blankly at its immense size. When I called for him to start walking again it seemed to snap him out of some trance. We started walking along the paved path, but soon Skipper came upon something stuck in the branches of one of the trees. It was a frisbee. Suddenly Skipper turned into smoke, as he had done when he first appeared, and rose up into the tree. At first I was stunned by this cause I had forgotten how he had first first appeared to me. He rematerialized and grabbed the frisbee with his mouth, and then jumped back down to the ground. He placed the frisbee at my feet. I figured he wanted me to play fetch, so I threw it across a patch of grass. As I saw him run after the frisbee I wondered how the world must look for him. A land of wonders and amazing things. Ships that are bigger than any animal on the ground fly high up into the skies, and discs of plastic that are able to maneuver through the air with grace. Skipper was a thing of wonder to me too. A little creature that could become smoke and walks the ground but has gills. It was if we were both drawn to each other because we did not really understand the other. Then again we did not need to. After a couple of hours of playing fetch we made our way back home.
